How to get the most out of Mellow 💯

First of all, thanks for downloading Mellow! We hope we can help you regain some peace of mind and sense of control over your seizures. Let's dive into how you can get the most out of Mellow.

#1 Add your emergency contact

This is the person who will receive alerts when a potential seizure is automatically detected or a manual alert is triggered. You can add one person during onboarding and then more contact in the menu → emergency contacts → add new contacts.

Your contact will a receive a SMS when you add them to let them know you're using Mellow. 

#2 Ensure your watch app is set up

Once you download Mellow on your iPhone and complete onboarding, then find Mellow on your Apple Watch and launch it. Mellow should now be connected - you should be able to see 'You're all set' on the home screen of the Mellow iPhone app.

If Mellow is not automatically downloaded on your Apple Watch, go to the iPhone Apple Watch app and click the 'Install' button next to Mellow on the list of apps.

In order for Mellow to work properly, you must have:

• Apple Watch is tightened on your wrist
• Mellow app launched on both iPhone and Apple Watch
• iPhone and Apple Watch paired and kept together
• Sufficient battery on both devices
• Stable internet connection 
• Emergency contact able to receive SMS
  
  

#3 Test a manual alert

Did you know Mellow also has manual alerts as well as automatic detection? You can test the alert process by starting a manual alert and checking your emergency contact received the seizure alert SMS.

To start a manual alert, press and hold the Mellow Watch home screen for 3 seconds until the seizure alert countdown begins. The seizure alert countdown takes 30 seconds and you are able to cancel the alert before the end of the countdown. The Mellow Watch app will also vibrate and make a noise to alert you the countdown has begun.
